NEW STUDY CLUB
2nd, 4th and 5th Monday of the Month at 7:00PM.
De Soto Lodge will be starting up a study club to increase the ritualistic proficiency of all of our Members. De Soto Lodge has long been recognized as one of the outstanding lodges in the area when it comes to our ritual work. We are often called on to assist other area lodges with their work. To maintain this high level of proficiency, we have set a goal of having 5 new B-Card holders by the end of 2012. All Brother Masons are invited to join us for these educational meeting.

Upcoming CHIP Events
Child Identification Services will be provided as follows:
The CHIP or Child Identification Program addresses the alarming fact that over:
· 450,000 children run away each year
· 300,000 children are abducted each year by family members
· More than 58,000 children are abducted every year by non-family members
That's more than 800,000 children in America missing each year - one child every 40 seconds.
The Kansas Masonic CHIP Kit is the most comprehensive service of its kind anywhere. It is a community service initiative provided at NO COST through the benevolence of the Freemasons of Kansas who are dedicated to changing these statistics by providing parents and guardians with a tool they can use to help protect their children. The I.D. Kit allows parents to collect specific information by easily recording the physical characteristics, digital fingerprints, digital photo, digital video and DNA Swab in an Amber Alert Compatible Format. The completed I.D. Kit is then given to the parent or guardian to be kept at home. If ever needed, this I.D. Kit will give authorities vital information to assist their efforts to locate a missing child.
All of the identifying items generated during a KS CHIP Event are given to the child’s family. Only the permission slip is retained by the Freemasons of Kansas. No copies of any ID materials are kept on file by any of the organizers; the parents receive all ID materials and health information produced.
Kansas Freemasonry is proud to bring the families of our state the KS CHIP program for the protection of all of our children!
What CHIP is NOT? CHIP is NOT the process of placing a tracking “chip” into a child. While a tracking “chip” in your dog is a good thing, it is not something that should ever be done to a child. It is NOT a means of developing a large database of personal information. All personal information is handed over to the child’s guardian in the CHIP kit. We only retain the release form that gives us the right to provide the CHIP service to the family. This release form contains only the child’s name and the guardian’s signature. If you would like to request CHIP services for your next community event, please fill out an informational request on our Contact Us page.
